7 notes
to keep on the topic of sketching, markup sketches are fantastically helpful. they happen right before coding, after the mockup is finalized. i do them whenever i have to code something that is either complicated or at the beginning of a large-scale project. it helps me make sure i’m thinking through my naming convention.
print out your mockup, and start boxing off your elements. plan your ID and class names, work out exactly how you are going to write your markup. there are lots of things to be worked through, and any issues in your initial markup-plan should become visible while doing this. (see all the scribbles?)
I’ve done this on a few large projects and it is wonderful.
